Our Bedford team have relocated – and our new, state of the art office in Bedford Heights is now officially open!
The move falls in line with our ambitious expansion and recruitment plans, facilitating ongoing growth. The beautifully refurbished suite is 10,303sq ft of thoughtfully designed space – akin to the likes of Microsoft or Google. With 72 staff already based in our Bedford office, there’s now room to grow.
The move was project managed by our facilities administrator Kimberly Dillon, and was no mean feat. Working with designer Mark Constanzo of Fiducia Interiors, the concept started with picking a blank canvas office in the building – where there was originally nothing but a vast empty space, dotted with the odd pillar.
When the team came to view the office suite they fell in love with it immediately, and they liked the history behind it too – its links to the tech industry through the American tech company Texas Instruments.
The CTO Richard Billington explains: “The Texas Instruments building is a local landmark and our team based in Bedford is primarily from the area so it’s exciting to see the renovation that’s taken place – and to get to experience it as a tenant. Having lived and worked in Bedford my whole life it’s great to move our company into Bedford’s premier business destination.
As one of the region’s biggest employers of technical talent, it’ll no doubt be an advantage to be based in the building when recruiting. If any local PHP developers, testers, product owners or product managers are looking for a new challenge, then look us up.”
The transformation was vast, and colourful! With an open plan office area surrounding a vibrant central modular block of meeting and training rooms. The colour palette used was inspired by the colours of the liberty branding reel.
In total there are 7 meeting rooms, a Recording studio (for our podcasts CX appeal and Life in Low-code, as well as our webinars), some informal work/break out areas scattered throughout, a kitchen lunch area and a waiting area. It’s a very open but structured space, a perfect place to host our Low-code training sessions.
When asked what the highlights of working on the project were, Kim said: “It was great working with the designer, and the results of the design and layout have definitely created a better working atmosphere, which brings everyone together. The project was a pleasure to work on, with the only real challenge being the last leg – pulling it all together at the final hurdle.”
Welcomed by the Mayor
On Wednesday 5th June, Mayor Dave Hodgson officially opened our new premises, joined by Tim Pain, Director of Verve Developments Ltd (the owners of Bedford Heights), Mark Constanzo, the designer, Richard Billington, CTO and Henrik Bang CEO.
The guests took a keen interest in the software applications we provide to local government. There’s a great understanding of what we bring to the local economy and community too, and they were impressed when hearing about the free coding course MatsSoft are offering local college students during National Coding Week.
Tim Pain, Director of Verve Developments Ltd, owners of Bedford Heights said: “MatsSoft is a real success story having started life as a digital design agency and grown into one of the world’s top technology companies.
As a building with a strong technology heritage thanks to Texas Instruments, it seems very fitting indeed that MatsSoft has taken a large space here at Bedford Heights – becoming one of our biggest tenant businesses. We are very much looking forward to the company becoming integrated into our vibrant business community.”
The launch event was a huge success and such a lovely day for all who have worked so hard on the project, seeing it all coming to fruition. They should all be very proud of their efforts.
The building as a whole offers our staff and visitors not only a contemporary workspace, but has a fantastic restaurant (Graze), a lounge, reception, conference venue, co-working, gym and hotel.
Situated on Brickhill Drive close to the town centre, the mainline train station and major link roads, Bedford Heights is fast becoming the town’s most desirable business location – and we’re excited to be part of the Bedford Heights community.
