The UK’s leading Low‑code application development platform is now widely available to the public sector through the UK Government’s latest G-Cloud framework.

MATS brings Low-code to G-Cloud 9

The MATS Low-code development platform has been accredited to the UK Government’s G-Cloud 9 (G9) procurement framework, bringing the ability to “code without coding” to the UK public sector.

MATS enables people with no technical training to build software applications without writing any code. Its availability on the Digital Marketplace means UK public sector organisations can develop new and much-needed digital services without having to wait in the IT queue or hire armies of skilled developers.

What is G-Cloud?

G-Cloud was established in 2012 to promote high transparency, accountability, security and accessibility standards within the public sector vendor procurement process. Building on the success of previous G-Cloud listings, MATS has been accepted in three G-Cloud 9 categories, following the successful completion of a rigorous application process.

Martin Scovell, founder and CEO of MatsSoft, the company that developed MATS, says the latest G-Cloud listing will bring many benefits to the public sector:

“Agencies will be able to roll out digital transformation initiatives much faster,” he said. “And, as the adoption of Low-code in the public sector continues to grow, MATS will enable better inter-departmental collaboration and remove duplication – improving productivity and alleviating the digital skills shortage.”

MATS already has a strong track record in the UK public sector:

  • At Adur and Worthing Councils, MATS is the foundation of a social prescribing application that boosts citizen wellbeing while easing pressure on GPs and local services
  • An application built using MATS has helped the Department for Education to distribute funding faster to 152 local authorities in England

Through its G-Cloud listing, MatsSoft will be able to tap into a market that’s traditionally been hard to access for growing British technology firms. According to the latest data from October 2016, 64% of services procured through G-Cloud were delivered by SMEs – making the best of British tech easier to buy and more cost-effective than ever before.

MATS is available in three G-Cloud categories:

  • Cloud Hosting – Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Cloud Software – Software as a Service (SaaS), and
  • Cloud support – Specialist Cloud Services
